Hello,
My name is Emily Rose and this is my first semester at ACCHS. I am so excited for this new venture. I've always had a strong passion to help others, but it wasn't until my own diagnosis of Lupus this past year that a brand new door opened up for me, leading me to want to become a TCM doctor. My goal is to first heal myself and then be able to go on to help others in their own healing process.
My goals have always been centered around racial justice. I believe that Chinese medicine can be a huge tool in helping to alleviate some of the issues that are caused by inequality and racism ie access to doctors, access to healthy food, access to a mental therapy and the education for a healthy lifestyle. Our country is sick mentally, spiritually, and physically and Chinese medicine can help alleviate this. I hope to one day provide free treatments to the communities of the Bay Area in need and also to help people who are incarcerated. An inner freedom can be found with acupuncture which can effect so many different areas of your well being. I can't wait to be a catalyst to other people's good health, like acupuncturists have been to me, in the past.
I feel so blessed to be exactly where I am at in my journey.
Hey girl! I'm happy to welcome you and get to know you better as we take this journey together studying CM. The way you embrace your diagnosis and rise above the challenge is inspiring and I believe can make you a great practitioner that can connect to others dealing with similar struggles.
ReplyDeleteEqual access to healing is a passion I share with you too and is also the reason I want to be an acupuncturist. Have you heard of the Charlotte Maxwell clinic? It's a block away from our school and has a special place in my heart. When I am licensed I want to volunteer again.

ReplyDeleteWelcome to the crazy world of Chinese Medicine! I'm inspired by the journey that lead you here. Way to turn your own body into your biggest teacher! I have learned so much from my own illness and injury and feel better off for going through each and every learning process.
